The Power of Posi+ive Thinking

Author: Lola Brett

Henry Ford famously said, “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” The message is clear: our mindset matters. What we believe about ourselves and the world around us shapes our reality. So, if we want to create positive change in our lives, it starts with cultivating a positive mindset.

Here’s how…

Be mindful of your self-talk.

The things we say to ourselves have a huge impact on how we feel and act. If your self-talk is negative, you’ll likely find yourself feeling down and struggling to reach your goals. On the other hand, if you focus on speaking kindly to yourself and building yourself up, you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve. The next time you catch yourself thinking something negative about yourself, take a step back and reframe it in a more positive light.

Choose your friends wisely.

The people we spend time with also have a big impact on our mindset. If most of your friends are pessimistic or always complaining, it’s likely that their negativity will rub off on you.

Surround yourself with people who are positive and who support your dreams and goals—these relationships will help keep you motivated and moving forward, even when times are tough.

Practice gratitude.

It’s easy to focus on what’s going wrong in our lives, but taking the time to notice and appreciate the good can make a big difference in our outlook. Each day, take a few minutes to write down three things that you’re grateful for—it could be something as simple as a sunny day or a helpful colleague. Over time, this exercise will train your brain to look for the positive in every situation.

Mindset matterswhat we believe shapes our reality.

So if we want to create positive change in our lives, it starts with cultivating a positive mindset. By being mindful of our self-talk, choosing our friends wisely, and practicing gratitude, we can train our brains to focus on the good and create lasting positivity in our lives.
